There comes a point in every college student's life when he or she realizes that the end is rapidly drawing near. Around this time one begins to look back on the last four years with a sense of overwhelming nostalgia; remembering the good, smiling at the bad, and most of all, reliving nearly every moment of his college life in an attempt to make the final weeks stretch far beyond June 7th. I find myself at this point, daydreaming constantly about the past. In addition to my memories, I also find myself filled with a certain amount of regret - not about the things I have done, but rather, as the old saying goes, about the things I have left undone. Thus, there are several things I feel I must accomplish before I graduate this institution. Satisfying these tasks would allow me to leave W&L with a sense of fulfillment and feel genuinely good about my experience here. Moreover, these tasks are not necessarily applicable only to me; rather, I feel that all W&L students should strive to do these things at least once before they graduate. So, in no particular order, things I must do before graduation…

1. Get a 100 on a test

This used to happen with regularity in high school; I come to college and 100s are rarer than a Kappa at a Lambda party. Why this triple digit phenomenon continues to allude me, I don't know. There have been several instances in which I was sure I absolutely aced a test, only to get an 87 back. Just once I want to be that guy who ruins the curve for everyone else, so I can look down on all the unintelligent people and smirk at their incompetence.

2. Go tubing from Beans Bottom to Pole Houses

This is a staple of W&L spring term, and you probably think it's an atrocity I haven't already done this. Allow me to say, I have done it, once; however, it was at night, and my friends and I could not see a thing. So I want to go tubing in the light of a perfect spring day, surrounded by friends, with a cold beverage in hand. Ah, W&L Spring Term - it really doesn't get any better.
