Dear students and subscribers,
We have taken over a 13-year-old independent newspaper known as The Trident. Though we don't have the tradition and prestige as other weekly campus publications, we take pride in featuring student commentary and providing forward- looking feature articles. Though we may occasionally run afoul of the University's Media Board with brackets of "awesomeness" and other "inappropriate" articles, we will do our best to uphold our reputation as W&L's most fearless publication.
The Trident will be going back online. Its online content has been a good source for parents, prospective students, and students studying abroad. We want to extend an apology to all of the sports team parents, high school seniors, and others who were caused great distress by our absence last semester. We're proud to be inheriting the best paper on campus and our former editors have been kind enough to put us in our position. We're looking forward to the challenge.
Sincerely,
Taylor and Nina

Good luck Taylor and Nina,
As a resident of far away Chicago, I have greatly enjoyed reading the paper on line and was the first among my peers to know what a good game Beruit entails. (Continued…)
