The Baker-Davis-Gilliam residential halls may soon play home to something like professor's offices instead of freshman dorms. Plans are in the works to one day have all freshmen live in only Gaines and Graham-Lees, and to build more housing for upperclassmen near Woods Creek.

Trustees issue Annual Fund Challenge

In a time of economic recession, giving away money is simply harder to do. That is why Washington & Lee's Board of Trustees has issued the Annual Fund Challenge.

About 8 percent of the University's budget comes from the Annual Fund. The money is used for anything and everything, including equipment for computer and science labs, increasing the library collection, and maintaining the grounds and services on campus.

Injured Bulls forward Luol Deng is reportedly done for the season. Just a few months after the team's fans.

Florida wide receiver Percy Harvin scored a 12 out of 50 on his Wonderlic test at the NFL combine. And that's with a tutor taking it for him.

Japan has now won the World Baseball Classic twice, giving them one trophy for every person in America who watched them do it.

Dean Dawn Watkins recently provided The Trident with an e-mail addressing charges that the administration has attempted to cover up the campaign of Knowledge Empowering Women Leaders, or KEWL, in its "Love Your Body" week.

The Trident will cover these charges and the administration's response more in coming weeks.

I am an English major. I feel the need to state this up front because I deal with the thoughtful and reflective articulation of emotions. Thus, it is a great aberration for me to utter "repugnant," "deplorable," and "unconscionable" with red face and wildly gesticulating limbs.

2009 has not given us anything new so far. Brackets are more chalked than a srat star's nose, the Steelers decided that Cinderella should stay home early, the market has continued to decline, and Washington and Lee has continued its undying love for frats, especially Phi Psi.

I live in Gilliam. A mere two floors above the Health Center. I know these dorms are basically breeding grounds for diseases, fungus and other nasty stuff that scares me. But, I came prepared. Had my Daily Vitamins, Emergen-C, and Airbourne. And if came down to it, I would straight up snort orange peel.
